Butterflies are ubiquitous creatures. We don’t have to travel in search of them – unless you are looking for a specific species. They are everywhere for us to see and enjoy. All what is required is careful observation and patience.
Some understanding about different types of butterflies and their behaviour would make it easy to look for them or to identify spots where they may be present.
Another cue to look for is the vegetation. Each butterfly has specific Larval Host Plant(s) which are essential for the species to thrive. Larvae feed on specific plants and hence female butterflies lay eggs on or near such LHPs.
Grow a garden at home
We can easily create a butterfly eco-system at home by growing plants that provide nectar as well as host plants that will attract butterflies present in your area.
