Bangalore Butterflies

Though Bengaluru is not the ‘garden city’ it used to be, it still has a vibrant natural environment that hosts a vast variety of flora and fauna. A large number of butterfly species can easily be observed in Bangalore. City has recorded close to 180 species of butterflies in recent times.

Butterfly watching is an activity that has generated a lot of interest recently, in many places across the globe. The butterfly watchers community in Bangalore is a fast growing one cutting across age groups. Walks organized by Bangalore Butterfly Club have seen increased participation in the last few years.
